Beep Beep
Posted in Relationships on January 29th, 2010Ever drive without insurance? It’s not a good idea. The one time you get in a wreck, its going to be the time you aren’t insured. Eamon had some financial trouble when we first met, and he thought, I’m a good driver, I’ll cut costs and just not be insured. Of course, that came back to haunt him. We got into an accident taking a left turn. The car spun around, the back passenger side was hit, luckily not the front, or I might not be here! The car was totaled in the process, and I got a very scary ride to the hospital in an ambulance. Don’t worry, there was nothing wrong with me, but they had to double check and all. I thought the numerous needles they stuck in me that day was the worst of it. Well…
The other driver had just bought their 2 weeks ago, and it was brand new.
Of course they’re not going to let it go. That was almost 2 years ago, and still it’s haunting him. For a while the other insurance company was having a hay day with him. Naturally, he got insurance right after that and they were kind enough to handle most of the tough stuff. But some of it managed to slip through the cracks.
A new development we found out a week ago: He’s getting sued.
He’s a broke college student, he has no money to his name, his parents aren’t supporting him or anything, yet they’re going after him for all he’s got. 2 years later, and he still can’t move on with his life. It just sucks, I feel horrible for him and wish I could help. He’s at the point where he’s afraid to answer his phone it it’s an unknown number. I just hope this doesn’t haunt him much longer. He’s rather stressed and worried all the time, I can’t bear it!
Just a little thought, if you aren’t insured right now, an auto insurance quote can’t hurt.
Ever get into a car wreck? Ever been sued?

I had no idea you are allowed to drive without insurance, I thought it was mandatory?

Two years later! Why can’t those people just move on? They’re wasting their own money with this. Two years to hold a grudge for a wrecked car is way too much emotional baggage to deal with. How very sad.
