Spring Break Spoils
Posted in Life on March 23rd, 2009I usually have a problem buying things. Food and stuff is fine because I need it, but clothes and stuff, I always feel a little guilty. Especially since I went to college and now I’m paying for the stuff myself. My dad makes good money, so when we were kids, spending money wasn’t a big deal. Now I know exactly how long I have to work to pay for something, and I can’t bring myself to buy it unless I NEED it. And I can never buy things full priced. I think the last time I bought clothes was in August. I like buying things, it feels good to go out and get something, but if I do that, its usually something inexpensive. So, spring break was a breakthrough for me. While I was at home, I got to go shopping at Khol’s since my mom works there, I bought everything on sale and got an extra %30 off. It made buying things a little easier. Plus, my dad paid
I finally got some clothes! So I thought I’d share my faves with you.

I love the tye dye shirt, it was so colorful! And I love the shape and style of the button down shirt/dress. I’ve reached the age where I need to start building a professional wardrobe, and I feel like these would work either way.
Next on the list:

This jacket is AMAZING! It’s satin, and feels soooooo nice! I’m almost afraid to wear it because I don’t want to snag the fabric. I loved it at first glance, and am beyond glad that the arms were actually long enough. It kinda sucks being tall when most shirts don’t quite cover you.
And the purse, my first ever designer label purse, I can finally say I own something of Vera Wang’s. I’m not really into labels, but I really love Vera’s style, its so classic, and the purse was epically discounted.
Now, I got to go on a trip to Gatlinburg the other day with Eamon, and on the way we saw a flea market. Now, I’ve never been to a flea market before, but I’m so glad we went. I’ve always been really interested in asian culture, which explains me taking Japanese, and I love folding fans. So here I found this awesome purple wooden painted umbrella, a detailed fan, and even an umbrella lamp shade. I thought the lamp shade was the coolest thing ever! So I now have some pretty spectacular fans to add to my collection of all things asian.

The last thing I want to share is my mugs. Of course we had to stop at the local Disney store, since I cant go to my Disney store after I quit; it just feels weird talking to them when I know they didn’t really like me. I was very glad to have a chance to buy some Disney crap, lol.

And finally, all the pictures were taken on my new rug. The carpet in my crappy apartment is beyond gross, so now I dont have to be afraid to go barefoot around my room lol.
I think I’ve come a long way these past few days. Shopping is good, especially when you really need the item, so I just need to get over the money thing. I mean, I’m not going to spend my entire life savings on a new wardrobe, but a new shirt every now and then should not be a big deal to me.

I seem to go through bouts of being a total tightwad that won’t spend a dime on herself for months at a time and then ::BAM:: I get the shopping bug. $300 later and I’ve more than made up for the previous self-denial.
BUT – I never pay full price for something.
I am in love with your jacket. Did you get that at Kohl’s too? Must go look for that.

I did get it at khols, it was the last one in my size, so I took it as a sign that it was meant for me, lol

Omg I know what you mean about being tall. I rarely wear long-sleaved shirts, and if I do I push them up to quarter sleeves anyways because my wrists are always popping out! And pants… Pants are the WORST!
